Allergic reactions occur when individuals with allergies consume foods containing allergens. According to the regulations of BPOM, the US FDA, and the European FDA, there are currently 14 types of allergens, namely: gluten/wheat, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, tree nuts (such as cashews, almonds, etc.), soy, milk including lactose, celery, mustard, sesame, sulfites (more than 10 ppm), lupin, and mollusks.

Chocolate products come in a wide variety, both in terms of the type of chocolate and their fillings. Depending on their type or formula, chocolate products may contain allergens from milk, nuts, and/or biscuits/wafers containing gluten/wheat, among others.

Information about all the raw materials in chocolate products that fall under allergens and the potential for a chocolate product to contain traces of allergens because it is produced in the same facility as products containing allergens is clearly stated on the packaging of the chocolate product. Consumers are advised to carefully read the product packaging before purchasing or consuming it.
